With a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Hofstra University, Joe Casalino, Jr. made his living as a Plastic Injection Moldmaker with Abbott Laboratories for over 25 years, along with designing and building theatre sets for Casalino School of Creative Arts, his wife’s Ballet school, on the weekends. After retiring, he returned to his passion of making welded steel sculptures which can been seen in multiple places including the Salt Lake Jewish Community Center, the Phillips Gallery in Salt Lake City, the Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills, Queens, NY along with many homes throughout the Salt Lake Valley, including his own. When his daughter Lexi, called him with her idea, he was excited to begin a new project, especially knowing he would be working with his “little girl” from 2,000 miles away.
